Lisa Bracero


Lisa Bracero is a Nationwide field sales manager in Sacramento and loves to support her agency partners' risk management programs. In her 14 years with Nationwide, she has also held positions in commercial lines underwriting, product, and operations. She is an alumna of CSU, Sacramento, where she earned her degree in Business Administration. Lisa and her husband Oliver have an eight year old daughter, Lana, and a four year old son, Daniel. They enjoy outdoor activities in this beautiful area they get to call home, especially family bike rides along the American River Bike Trail.

Caron Paixao


Caron Paixao is a Regional Claims Manager for Federated Mutual Insurance Company. She has been in the insurance industry for 30 years. She leads a local team of claims professionals handling Construction Defect claims nationwide. She also leads a team of experienced claims professionals located in Phoenix Arizona handling traditional property and casualty claims in the states of Washington, Oregon, Alaska, and Arizona. She serves on a cross functional management team, working with the Regional Marketing Manager and Regional Underwriting Manager to build business prospects in the Mountain West Region. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family.


Shari Peek


Shari Peek is a Claims Representative for Federated Mutual Insurance Company.  She has been in the insurance industry for over 15 years.  She has worked both in Commercial Lines Claims and Marketing.  She currently handles Commercial Automobile Claims for multiple States.  In her spare time she likes to travel with her family.


Susan Atkins


Susan Atkins is an Assistant Vice President for Golden Bear Insurance Company. She has been in the insurance industry for 20+ years. Susan is the senior Commercial Property underwriter in the home office, and often represents Golden Bear at conferences and conventions.  She plays an integral role in the operation of the Commercial Property Department.  In addition, she is a committee member of the Admitted Market Liaison Committee for the Surplus Line Association of California. In her spare time she plays ukulele and is a member of the Ukulele Strummers of Stockton.

Denise Brown


Denise Brown is Vice President and Executive Claims Consultant for InterWest Insurance Services, LLC.  While she has been in insurance industry for over 35 years, Denise has spent the past 25 years in a variety of claim-focused positions that have developed her technical expertise in handling the majority of claim-related situations that InterWest clients will unfortunately experience.  Denise has earned the CPCU, AINS, AIC, ARM, CIC, CISC, CRIS, AIS, MLIS, AFIS, and CAWC designations. She and her husband live in the small foothills town of Pilot Hill and have two adult daughters.

Pam Rose


Pam Rose is currently the Senior Underwriting Manager at Mercury Insurance Group in Folsom.   She has been in the insurance industry with Mercury for 38 years.  She has worked in both the Personal Lines Underwriting and Marketing Departments.  She currently manages two personal lines auto underwriting departments.  Pam received her CPCU designation in 1997.  In her spare time, Pam and her husband love to spend time with their children and grandchildren, enjoy the outdoors and dabble in photography.

Joshua Handloff


Joshua is an Administrative Underwriter for Mercury Insurance.  Joshua has been working in the insurance industry for 10 years, all in underwriting.  He graduated with his BA in Business Administration and MBA from Golden Gate University in 2005 and 2006, respectively.  He earned his CPCU in 2014.  In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and anything football-related.


Jessica Dias



Jessica started in insurance right after graduating from Cal Poly SLO. She has experience in commercial lines P&C underwriting, training, marketing, product, and management. Jessica has also written for The Institutes and for other private companies about insurance. Jessica taught insurance related courses at the Junior college level. She currently is a product manager for Nationwide Insurance, where she specializes in product development and improvement in the middle market and niche industry space. In her spare time, she chases her dogs in the park, plays board games with her kiddo and plans her next vacation.

Tom Drewry


Tom is a Commercial Property Claims Director for Nationwide Insurance. Tom has 23 years experience in the insurance industry, the last 14 years in claims leadership roles. Tom has been dedicated to self development throughout his career. Tom is a graduate of Wilmington College of Ohio where he earned his BA in Business Administration. Tom completed his CPCU in 1998 and a MBA from Walden University in 2004. He holds the AIC and SCLA designations as well as Xactimate Level 2 Certification. Tom's current development pursuits include Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.

Avolyn Fisher

Avolyn Fisher is a Sr. Analyst for the Commercial Lines Product Team at Nationwide Insurance. She has been in the industry for over three years, beginning her career as a Commercial Underwriting Intern in 2012 for Nationwide in Des Moines, IA. She is a member of Insurance Professionals of Sacramento (IAIP), President of Toastmasters Club #1672 (Risk Takers), and leads the Gen Y Associate Resource Group for the Western Regional Office of Nationwide Insurance. In her free time she enjoys practicing yoga at Yoga Shala Arden, writing for various publications, and traveling to the Bay Area.

Lisa Blumm


Lisa Blumm is a Senior Claims Resolution Specialist III for Safeco Insurance Company of America, a Liberty Mutual Company.  She is a  graduate of Western Illinois University.  She began her career in 1986 in the claims department with Safeco and has held various positions in claims handling and management. She enjoys the technical analysis and negotiations necessary in her current position.  She obtained her CPCU designation in 2009.  In her free time she enjoys traveling and attending sports events with her husband Steve and adult daughters Stephanie and Megan.
